During this retreat, we explore six botanical fragrance families — citrus, floral, spices, woods, marine and herbal — and let each day become a sensory portal to deeper contact with nature and our own inner intention and resonance.

Through rituals in nature, botanical workshops, meditation and manifestation, we create an experience where the energy of plants becomes a tool for transformation and life direction.

Four Elements Nature Initiation - A Ceremonial Journey through the Elements of Madeira

During the retreat, we undertake four nature initiations where we meet earth, water, fire and air in some of Madeira's most powerful landscapes.

The volcanic island is created by fire from the Earth's interior and shaped by the forces of the Atlantic Ocean. Here the energy of the elements meets in a way that makes the island an ideal place for transformation, renewal and reconnection to the power of nature.

** 🜂 FIRE INITIATION — Solar Awakening**

Meeting the Sunrise at Pico do Arieiro

We start the day before dawn and travel up into the mountains to meet the sun as it rises above the sea of clouds. At the top of Pico do Arieiro we gather in stillness while the sky is slowly coloured by the light of dawn.

** 🜄 WATER INITIATION — Levada Flow Ritual**

Ancestral Botanical Medicine Walk Along a Levada

During this tour with our local guide from the island, we follow one of Madeira's historic levadas — the narrow water channels that for centuries have carried life-giving waters through the island's lush landscape. Along these paths we meet a rich plant world where many aromatic and medicinal plants have traditionally been used in local folk medicine.

During our ancestral botanical medicine walk, we explore the properties of plants, their scents, and their role in traditional healing. The still, running water from the levadan becomes a natural companion in the work of the elements of water.

** 🜃 EARTH INITIATION — Forest Grounding Ritual**

Wisdom of Earth in the Fanal Forest

Fanal Forest is a mist-shrouded, ancient forest belonging to Madeira's UNESCO-protected laurisilva forest. Here we conduct a profound ceremony to anchor ourselves in the earth and the ancient wisdom of trees.

Sail along the coast of Madeira

The final initiation takes place out at sea as we sail along Madeira's dramatic coastline. Here we meet the elements of air — movement, expansion and freedom.

Integration Ceremony

After the four initiations, the group gathers in a concluding circle where we integrate the elements: Participants also create a personalized botanical ritual blend that represents their journey through the elements.

This retreat is as much a recovering nature experience as an immersion within you.

When we slow down and reconnect with nature, a deeper sense of clarity, direction and creative energy often opens up. During this week Madeira becomes a living temple of transformation, recovery and inspiration.

Practical information

Detailed day-by-day programme will be published later. The main themes, ceremonies and nature experiences of the retreat are set, but the schedule may be slightly adjusted depending on the weather and local conditions.

To create a personalized and immersive experience, the retreat is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.

To reserve your seat, you will initially pay a registration fee of SEK 5,000, which is deducted from the total price.

Accommodation

Accommodation takes place in a three star hotel in Funchal in Madeira, with proximity to both the sea and the city's botanical gardens.

Terms and Conditions

The registration fee is binding and non-refundable in case of cancellation. The remaining amount will be billed closer to the start date of the retreat. We recommend that participants take out travel and cancellation insurance.

The organizer reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the program if necessary.
